A 1994 Diablo VT and a 1998 Diablo SV, both nero and both stunning. A fun sunset photoshoot with those two cars to use up the amazing lighting that made it look like the cars were in hell with all the firey reds, oranges and yellows in the sky.
One of DFC\'s founding and most active members Michael Breen had an idea to put together a drive and show for his hometown hero Christopher Hrbek who had been a firefighter before becoming a Marine and was killed in Afghanistan on his 4th deployment there.
Over 50 cars showed up for the event and raised funds for the scholarship his parents set up after him, for more details go to this website - http://www.sgthrbek.com/.
A special invite was extended to DFC to visit a very exclusive and elaborate collection which included over 80 cars - Schumacher\'s F1 car, FXX, Enzo, Veyron, DBR9, S7, RRs, Bentleys, Porsches, Lamborghinis, Ferraris, Zagato Astons and many more.
To thank the host DFCers donated funds to the Children\'s Foundation the host sponsors, a way for us to give back and show appreciation for the privilege.
A small group of DFCers got together in Long Island and had a quick drive to Republic Airport where DFC friends at AirEast organized a BBQ at their hangar to watch the Memorial Day Airshow.
The cars were parked right in front of the runways where all sorts of interesting airplanes were taking off and landing all day.
Over 60 Lamborghinis registered to participate in this year\'s BullFest. But as the date of the event was getting closer the weather forecast started looking worse and worse. Eventually it rained hard the morning of the event, but 40 out of the 60 Lamborghini owners still showed up to enjoy each other\'s company and meet legendary Lamborghini test driver Valentino Balboni.
Mid morning the rain stopped and we enjoyed a semi dry drive in a group of 40 Lamborghinis.
1971 is the year when Countach was first introduced to the public. This year mark\'s the iconic supercar\'s 40th birthday. To celebrate the occasion avid Lamborghini enthusiast and Countach collector Mario Velardo put in an enormous amount of effort into organizing a Countach Reunion.
The plan was to get 40 Countaches together, but due to poor weather forecast only 22 showed up, which is still a record for North America.
Over 70 cars, an interesting mix of Lamborghinis, Ferraris, Porsches, GTRs, some other interesting metal and even a couple of Rolls Royces joined in for 2011s first large scale event held on an airport runway.
The day was full of action: individual runs, side by side racing, skydiving, etc...
Several DFCers had a chance to attend Lamborghini\'s Perfomante and Bicolore driving event at the beautiful Monticello Motor Club. They had the new Superleggera Spyder called Perfomante and base edition RWD lightweight Bicolore available for some laps around the track.
Both cars were lots of fun with Superleggera sounding very special with all the carbon and alcantara and Bicolore being very pleasing with the lighter steering feel and different suspension set up.
A photoshoot of two Heffner Twin Turbo Lamborghini Gallardos: Yellow Spyder and a black Superleggera, both 6 speed and both pushing over 1.000 HP!
Amazing machines!
We don\'t venture into Long Island often, but once or twice a year it\'s a good destination, specially when one of the coolest dealerships in NY area opens their doors for us, thanks to DFC member \'Hilly\'\'s efforts!
Autosports Designs in Huntington Station served as the end location for the drive and they had lunch catered and also new Lotus Evora\'s made available for test drives. In addition they had an absolutely incredible inventory of cars that we spent hours examining and taking pictures of.
